Here's a peek at the front!

I still find it a shame that you can’t buy a set of fenders for a Pugsley. I’ve trolled around the Web to see who’s making some. There are some wooden ones that look like skateboards for $300. Not the solution that I’m looking for. Stylish, yes! Functional, not so much.

I put a little JonnyK ingenuity into play and built up my own pair with a set of Planet Bike Mountain Bike fenders, two 36-inch pieces of 4-inch vinyl cove-base, 26 rivets, and a ton of love. Total cost is like $60 and that includes a rivet gun. Nice to add one to my tool box!

cove base to effectively cover the girth of Pug’s oh-so-sweet 4-inch tires. I made templates out of paper and then transferred them to the vinyl. I then pop riveted the vinyl skins to the Planet Bike skeletons. Pretty easy. Not full wrap-around coverage in the back, but this should keep a lot of the gnar off me. These should be great as this winter has been a season of mush!

I think I might call these guys the “Executioners.” The rivets give it a little S&M flava! On second thought, these fenders look like Darth Vader. Either way, I’m pleased with the results. Check them out!
